Caleb University Welcomes Newly Appointed Chancellor, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye
It was a moment of double celebration at the 15th Convocation Ceremony of Caleb University, as Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye was officially appointed as the Chancellor of the institution.
Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, was confirmed as Chancellor in an announcement made by the University’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Mr. Olawale Adekoya. The appointment was described as both significant and timely for the continued growth and development of the University.
Expressing his delight at the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, stated that he has full confidence in her leadership. He noted that her wealth of experience, spiritual depth, and moral standing would greatly enhance the institution’s commitment to discipline, excellence, and character formation.
Fondly known as “Mummy G.O.,” Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye is widely respected for her unwavering dedication to God’s service and her impactful leadership over the years. She is particularly admired by youths across the nation for her humility, integrity, and exemplary lifestyle. A recipient of an honorary Doctorate degree, she is regarded as a symbol of hard work, discipline, and moral uprightness.
Describing her as a role model to millions, the University Registrar remarked that Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye has led several spiritual and educational initiatives and has played a key role in the growth of one of the largest Christian organizations in the world.
The convocation ceremony itself was a remarkable academic milestone. Over 90 students graduated with First Class honours, about 22 students were awarded doctoral degrees, and nearly 2,000 students graduated across various programmes.
The event not only celebrated academic excellence but also marked a new chapter in the University’s leadership journey.
